Technical Brief on Hormonal Contraception and HIV Developed

The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and USAID jointly developed a brief to summarize the current epidemiological evidence regarding use of hormonal contraception (HC) and HIV acquisition, HIV transmission, HIV progression, and whether women on ARTs will experience drug-drug interaction. The brief highlights evidence, recommendations, and implications for policies and programs.
