December 2015 - ECHO Study Began

Evidence for Contraceptive Options and HIV Outcomes (ECHO) Study Began

The ECHO study began in December 2015, when two sites in South Africa started screening and enrolling participants. The randomised clinical trial recruited a total of 7,830 sexually active HIV-negative women aged 16 to 35 at 12 study sites in Kenya, South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia. In August 2017, the study achieved its enrollment target.
