Country Snapshots
These pages provide a snapshot of key HIV and family planning data. Each country context is different and countries will need to tailor the communication and advocacy around this issue accordingly. Understanding the method mix and the amount to which women rely on one contraceptive method is an important consideration in tailoring a country response on this issue. In places where the method mix is skewed, this highlights the need for greater attention to increasing the availability of a range of contraceptives and providing women with more choice.
Data presented in the country snapshots were provided by AVAC, ECHO, Family Planning 2020 (FP2020), United Nations Population Division (UNDP), and the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). To cite this information, we encourage you to cite the publishing institution.
Disaggregated data by brand of method is not available.
